The ONE Role you NEVER Expected as a Group Mental Health Practice Owner

    August 15, 2016

When you are contemplating opening a group mental health practice, I am sure you are thinking about hiring clinicians, office space, and marketing to clients. There are many roles a Group Practice Owner will need to fill. You will be required to be:

    · Marketing Manager
    · Accountant/Bookkeeper
    · Clinician
    · Administrative Manager
    · Housekeeper
    · Secretary
In my development and continuing education, no one every prepared me for the role of JANITOR. Getting calls like the one I received this morning, “The toilet is flooded and there is poop in the toilet” at 8am on a Sunday morning.

Yes, this will be YOUR role and you will need to take on these to make the appropriate calls.

I highlight this very example because there are so many components to owning a group mental health practice.

If you do own a private group mental health practice, you know EXACTLY what I am talking about! If you are planning to open a group mental health practice, these are the many roles you will take on!
